A2O

The traditional Municipal Sewage Treatment Solution has always been based on the Activated Sludge Process, which offers high efficiency in removing organic matter (BOD) and suspended matter (TSS).

However, the eutrophication of water at discharge sites became a serious concern due to the presence of nutrients (Nitrogen and Phosphorus) in treated sewage. As a result, the NGT prescribed new discharge norms for treated sewage, requiring removal of Nitrogen (TN < 10 ppm) and Phosphorus (TP < 2 ppm).

Key features

  • Removes both nitrogen and phosphorus simultaneously.
  • A portion of alkalinity consumed in the aerobic tank is recovered by the denitrification reaction in the anaerobic tank through recycling of nitrified liquor from the aerobic tank to the anoxic tank.
